The PhD in Philosophical Sciences active at the Department of Humanities of the University of Naples "Federico II" aims to promote the students the skills and abilities necessary for scientific research in the philosophical field in a qualified way and corresponding to the higher levels reached internationally.

The doctorate makes use of the proven research experience of its teachers and collaborators and of a network of international relations of absolute importance.

Born from the experiences and activities of the three pre-existing Doctorates in Philosophical Sciences, Bioethics and Philosophy of the Interior Architecture, the Doctorate guarantees a strong multidisciplinary strategic connotation for the future insertion of doctoral students in the world of work. Precisely in the context of such multidisciplinarity, the possibility of activating three curricula is envisaged, one with a scientific and cultural generalist profile of a purely philosophical nature and two of an applicative nature particularly oriented towards synergy with the philosophical perspective. The decision to combine two more specific curricula with a philosophical curriculum does not stem only from the ten-year experience of collaboration that the Doctorate of Philosophical Sciences has established with the Interpolo Doctorate in Bioethics and from the most recent experience of collaboration with the Doctorate in Philosophy of the Interior Architectural, but also from a firm underlying belief that, at the current level of research, the motivated and widespread theoretical need for reflection on the current forms of the human being must necessarily make use of the support of multiple positive knowledge and applied sciences, that is of a method of investigation based on the concurrence of job prospects and performative skills which are also very different from each other. Only in this way is it possible to design a future University in which the perimeter of communicating knowledge is no longer simply in the name of interdisciplinarity but, also and above all, of multidisciplinarity, understood as that perspective on the basis of which the progressive acquisition of "knowledge" it must be structured on an ever more aware and updated symmetry and interaction of knowledge and applications.
